"The Lotus Effect is a registered trademark. A German botanist Prof. Dr. Wilhelm Barthlott did the science bit. Numerous commercial products have been developed in association with the Dr. which have the "Lotus-Effect," like StoLotusan paint etc. This was not a military led development."
